It IS the same spot, check out the dips in the trees, but , as said, congrats, both are worthy, and it is a beautiful spot for a photo.

Way to go Yanik (once again :)) You doing well here lately! I gotta get started up again I think :)
06/17/2004 11:20:54 PM
Let me guess... Parentx sitting on the rock?
06/17/2004 09:40:09 AM
Congrats on this one, what I said on the blue ribbon goes for you too.
It´s great to see 2 pictures taken in the same place and both this, so similar but still so different.

Gee... thats the same thing you said to the first place winner, but only changed the name. Do you say this of everyone??

Congratulations, both your picture and Lili's are beautiful. It's so good to see two top winners from the Ottawa area. I miss Ottawa tremendously, some days more than others. And it's good to be able to put a name with your girlfriend and model.

Enjoy the cottage!

Congratulations on the Ribbon - it is a beautiful imaga.

Very nice capture and congrats for the ribbon. Good job on inverting the image right to left to fool most of us into thinking that it was taken at two seperate locations. Like I told Lili, you found a great spot to shoot and executed your shots very well. FĂ©licitations pour une autre belle job.

Maybe you guessed it was me because its verty similar to my Centered submission... but I never do the same idea more than once...

This one I have to say that is much better than mine ..
06/16/2004 02:33:42 AM
This is the same place, I don't know why you mention a different one... it is OK with me you go together for a photo session! :)) it is valid, and both are great shots!
06/16/2004 01:49:32 AM
Great photo as usual!!!

Congrats on your ribbon!
06/16/2004 01:03:23 AM
Very Cooooool!!! Great work! I gave you both the same score. Cheers....Martin

It IS the exact same spot... If you notice the 2nd picture (3rd place) is a 180 degree rotation of the first shot. :) Notice the foreground rocks are on the right in "Fisherman" and in this one they are on the left.

No problem with me, they are two great shots and deserve the ribbons, good team effort!

I agree ... Congrats on the ribbon it was my CHOICE for the blue.

Beautiful shot, so pieceful Great colors too :)
06/15/2004 07:55:03 PM
Great shot, I just think there is two of this pic on the contest with the same effect.
06/13/2004 08:23:35 PM
Great sillhouette, great landscape! Nothing that I can see that needs to be improved upon. =-)
06/13/2004 05:27:37 PM
classic piece, almost as good as the fisherman one that looks alike, 9
06/12/2004 11:00:26 PM
WOW. Can't type.
06/12/2004 09:01:17 AM
Very nice picture but not sure meditation is waiting.
06/11/2004 11:24:13 PM
Beautiful. I don't know how I'd improve this.
06/11/2004 02:46:46 PM
Very good shot... good use of the challenge subject. Placement is perfect!
06/11/2004 09:18:48 AM
So beautiful.
06/11/2004 02:39:50 AM
You have a wonderful image, great colors - great silhouette. But I think the person you were shoooting with did a better job for "waiting" with the fishing angle ("Fisherman's Patience.") Both images are great, but if I had to pick one over the other.... I don't know which has the horizontalk flip - but like the larger black area on the left side. This one (and the other one) is one of my top picks.
06/10/2004 08:51:02 PM
Beautiful shot !
06/10/2004 08:29:55 PM
I think I've seen over 20 silllhoutted (sp?) sunrise/set pictures, and they were all horrid. This, on the other hand, is soft and beautiful.
06/10/2004 05:13:35 PM
Very nice picture. The reflections in the water are perfect. Captures the stillness of waiting. I give this one a 7
06/10/2004 04:21:08 PM
Very nice! I love the composition on this- the trees just hanging down into the shot are a nice touch.
06/10/2004 07:20:41 AM
Absolutely wonderful... wish this had been taken with a slightly wider lens though, so we could have more leaves at the top. The proportions just seem slightly out in this composition. Excellent idea, mood, colours, etc. Love the pink/orange on the horizon. Lovely. 9
06/10/2004 04:51:32 AM
This is such an amazing picture. Wow!
06/10/2004 01:54:28 AM
Gorgeous picture! I know there is a similar picture (exact same rock and background) like this one, so my guess is that the model is Heida and the photographer is Nazgul. ;-) Anyhow, I absolutely love the scene and how the model is positioned. So serene, very peaceful feeling. Like the other picture, I also wish there were a bit more color, perhaps more redness in the sky to compliment the overall blueness. Superb picture!
06/09/2004 09:53:53 PM
As I commented on the "Fisherman's patience" shot, I think this is a great shot. But, it's obvious that they were both shot at the same location, only the image was reversed and the clouds are missing. Regardless, I think it's a great image and rated it at 9.
06/09/2004 06:26:52 PM
A lovely clear shot. I find myself desperate to duck under the tree line though - I would have shot lower and lost them for a purer image.
06/09/2004 04:55:53 PM
another nice silhouette!
06/09/2004 04:06:03 PM
There are two very similar photos here.
If the other is yours also, i prefer this one.
Good luck
8 for this one and 7 for the other
:)
06/09/2004 02:41:59 PM
Very nice.
06/09/2004 11:17:32 AM
Great capturem, nice exposure. This one is definatly a ribbon winner. 9
06/09/2004 07:39:41 AM
This has winner written all over it ..... I wish you all the best
06/09/2004 05:37:00 AM
Beautiful picture - one of the best of the challenge. You framed it perfectly and did a great job with the silhouette and reflection. Nice shot!
06/09/2004 12:37:11 AM
umm...
06/09/2004 12:34:07 AM
Top 5! maybe a ribbon
06/09/2004 12:24:04 AM
Every once in a while, you see a shot that's so obviously superior to the others in the challenge that it's just a race for second place. Congratulations in advance. 10
