300 some piuctures and 2 submissions later we come to this point. 7 Macro Diopter at full telephoto on my G2. I filled a glass with water, and took an eye dropper. I dropped the water from about 1 1/2 feet above the glass. I love how you can see the sky in the drop.

nice reflection of you in the droplet, Inverted of course

Cool shot, but if you rotated it 180 degrees, the falling water effect would've been a heck of a lot better.

too dark!

I really like this one. Good timing. A little blurry on the bottom, but I'd hang this one on my wall.

Wow. Really nice close up. Its over done but I'll give you the highest water rating.
04/19/2002 06:40:00 AM
well done capturing that. The image is a little dark though ... perhaps it's the black background
04/19/2002 01:31:00 AM
dark and broody. some might down-vote that, but i like it for the grim feeling.
04/18/2002 06:00:00 PM
You got a nice reflection in the water. At first the blur bothered me, but the more I look at it, the more I think it might make the drop sharper.

Almost can't tell that this is water. Excellent close-up. You have great timing!
04/18/2002 12:53:00 PM
Nice detail in the refraction!

Just a little too soft, but since the focus is good I guess that was a choice. Very nice image.

glorious, a 10

Cool. It looks great upside down.
04/17/2002 04:48:00 PM
nice macro! the moodiest yet of the water drop photos. hope your camera didnt get wet.
04/17/2002 04:06:00 PM
Amazing timing! The lighting feels too dark on the rising droplet though.
04/16/2002 05:59:00 PM
scanage.
04/16/2002 05:57:00 PM
Its interesting, not as good as the other water shots but still up their. Just a bit too dark.
04/16/2002 04:39:00 PM
Good macro, like the reflection in the water droplet.
04/16/2002 03:56:00 PM
A cool shot!

This looks like an alian. Cool. Good job.
04/16/2002 01:57:00 PM
sweet, very simple and elegant
04/16/2002 01:56:00 PM
I'd suggest cropping the image to get the water centered -- but nice image overall.
04/16/2002 08:45:00 AM
a little dark and blurry. I like the drop that escaped the mass!
04/15/2002 10:12:00 PM
Amazing how much detail you can see in the drop.
04/15/2002 05:56:00 PM
Very well done. I like the black and white (yet it is color) look to it. Great timing on catching the ripples as well as the energy sending the water up. What did you drop into the water?
04/15/2002 03:19:00 PM
good pic, subject frozen.
04/15/2002 02:52:00 PM
A little too soft.

i love the reflection you caught in the drop
04/15/2002 11:41:00 AM
nice macro

This is a beautiful shot. I love the 'orbiting' water drop off the main column of water. At first, I didn't like the contrast of this photo, but as I continue looking, I like the darkness here. The darkenss conveys the actual turbulence in the water somewhat effectively :) The only piece of this shot that I don't like is at the bottom where the dark band crosses the photo. I probably would have cropped this part out. Very nice work! Hmmm... As I continue looking at this shot, I am asking myself if I see vertical line pattern in the photo. It appears that I do :(. I am scoring this photo high just in case it is a good shot.

scanned, or is your camera broken ? Strange lines across the picture. Cool shot none the less. Bit dark/ grey/ out of focus though.
04/15/2002 07:51:00 AM
This is so calming to me for some reason. I think it's the bottom ripples and dark background. I really like this capture. I do wonder how it would be just a LITTLE lighter. Nicely done !
