Challenge: Team Sports Without Players (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Nikon D70
Location: Riverbend, Kohler, Wisconsin
Date: Jun 1, 2004
Aperture: f22
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/20
Galleries: Sports, Landscape
Date Uploaded: Jun 1, 2004

The camera was placed on the grass of the croquet court with a wide angle lens. The exposure was taken on self timer as I rolled one croquet ball into the frame towards another ball. I would have liked to have had more late afternoon shadow, but we have had nothing but rain for weeks!

Great setting! The colors appear a little muddy on my monitor and I might have straightened a bit more. The movement of the yellow ball is interesting. Croquet as a team sport stretches it a bit, but I didn't weigh that heavily in my score.

Great idea. I like that you took initiative with this challenge. I like the british country club look to the buildling behind.

Croquet team.... hmmm okay I'll give you the benifit of the doubt
But other than a odd angle and some blur there is not much going for this shot

Good composition, with the placement of the horizontal breaks and the leading of balls

I love the idea, but the blurring feels like a double image more than a motion blur... Just the way it comes across. Maybe a slightly slower shutter? I do think this is very creative.
