I cannot understand how you can finnish 27 with a picture like that.... it make my 57 position look not too bad.... you should have finish in the first 3.. better luck nest time

Very nice shot... well composed, great lighting ... I predict a good finish for this image, so congrats.

I'm not sure if canoeing is considered a team sport, but a nice shot despite the bulky border.

On of my favorites -- the brown canoe adds the interest. The "nestled in a cove" feel creates an inviting mood. On of my top picks this theme

Nice photo, with a strong competition, but the connection to the challenge is a little tenuous (though I didn't penalize you for that.)

I really like the composition, color and focus. Outer limits of levels are a bit too saturated. I would have rated it a 6-7 ... but I can't imagine canoeing as a team sport. Doesn't meet challenge. (2).

I really like the colors and the overall tone of this shot. I think that you have captured it wonderfully.

I like the simplicity here, nice and simple composition. I like the darkened feel.

Good luck...

is it a team sport?

Beautiful pic. Nicely cropped. Good color depth. But as canoeing cannot fit the team sport aspect of the challenge, I cannot give you highest marks. I do believe this would make a nice print, though.

Really nice, this should be hanging on a wall at a camp somewhere! My 2c though, is that the silver of the canoes seems to clash with the natural colours in the rest of the picture, still really nice though.

Personally when I see canoes I do not think "team sport".
That said ,I like this shot and scored it a 7despite my predjudice :-)

I would have scored it higher if : It had more of a pop wow factor to it eg. more dramatic lighting or fog. (all this is out of your control I realise)

It sits on the fringe of fitting on theme while I did not mark down for it I never marked up for it either. Had it spoke to me and said this is a team sport without players it would have been a bit score higher IMO.

I know that you can put more than one person in a canoe, but is that really a team sport, or even a sport?
06/02/2004 08:51:44 PM
not really a team sport

I like this - but the colors seem a bit muted (intentional?) The border also adds something to it - very nice.

try lowering your perspective; show less of the ground and more of this relaxing location

I really like this shot! I wish that it could have been just a little brighter.

I like everything about this picture, color, sharpness composition, and the waiting pace. a10

Sorry, I don;t know what happened ... my comment for another photo appeared here. This is my comment: Colors are wonderful, earthy and the silver compliments the shimmer of the water. The composition and arrangement of the canoes are very satisfying ... reflecting a feeling of a job well done ... which is how one feels after having canoed the whole day.
