IR photo - I think this is the best IR photo I've taken to date as far as the technicals are concerned.

Used the Hoya R72 filter, my least fave lens, and my new E-520. I hope this does well because I really am quite pleased with how this turned out. I would be very happy if this replaced one of my top 3 shots. :)

Well it's not gonna replace any top 3 but it's been well received and i am happy. Here is what the scene looks like without an IR filter:

And with an IR filter:

In silkypix, I changed the WB and the tone to boost the contrast. Saved as jpg then I ran it thru noiseware.

In photoshop, I used a layer of Topaz Adjust to get the great contrast in the sky, and to enhance the details of the tree. From there, I did a combo of HSL and Color Balance to get the color I wanted. After that, dodge/burn, brightness/contrast to get the final look.

This is the first I've seen this, after you posted it in the Month of TA thread. Wonderful detail Michelle! Did you modify your camera for IR or just use a screw on filter? As someone else said, if a 6.6 doesn't make your front page you are pretty good. That score would be my PB.

I usually do not like B&W landscape - but this an is an exception - nice work

This scene is very beautiful, I love the sky and simplicity of the background.

Coming back to comment - I like the composition, focus and that you didn't over expose the sky. Your b&w conversion is very well done, but I'm not sure it works for me on this photo - where the clouds and tree meet it is almost too busy with it being so close to the same color/tone. 7.

Very sharp, crisp image. The dark skies, which feel threatening, are needed to capture the details of the tree. 10
