Oh no!!! I am so sorry! I'm sending you and Molly a big hug too! I know its "a challenge" to stay in the rules -- but sometimes -- the restrictive rules just keep us from being able to make our photos the best they can be! This is so amazing -- and you will treasure it forever. Long after the challenge is forgotten. I think I woul rather have a photo exactly like this of my beloved "furry child" than a high placing in a challenge anyway.
Congratulations on this AMAZING photo of Molly!

Jane, so sorry. Don't worry too much about this. I had a similar DQ myself.
FWIW , everything said about the shot still stands. It is a fantastic shot !!! and you should be proud of this. |

Bummer about the DQ. This is a great shot. I'm guessing you cloned out something Molly was jumping over? |

I take it you cloned out some kind of object under the dog? There looks to be some cloning work in the background (semi-identical out of focus objects, et al).
Unfortunate, but almost definitely a major object if so.
Too bad about the DQ. It's a nice action shot. |

There really should have been 5 ribbons in this challenge... so many great shots, and this one deserved a ribbon too.... an HM isnt a bad thing though. Congrats on the huge score, and the PB. My only 10 in this challenge. |

i looked thru the challenge and when i came to this one i was blown away ..
was hoping like mad it would do well in this challenge with the birds and exotic stuff .. an ordinary dog doing wot dogs do .... its the most amazing shot .. catching a dog at high speed like that, coming straight towards you is no mean feat .. CONGRATULATIONS on the HM, such a great place in the challenge and a killer shot .. :) |

This is my favourite of the many dog captures. Why? Because you've got down low (whether on your belly or making use of an incline) to take the photograph from below the animal's position. Amongst all the other's taken from a higher perspective, this one stands out as really representing the joyous leap of the dog. It's also a lovely capture in terms of light in his eyes, detail in his fur and clean and uncluttered background with well-chosen DOF. |

An amazing viewpoint and something that one doesn't often see with black dogs - rich and detailed facial expressions. While the image could use a little better crop, the vaguely detailed background compliments the intensity and meaningful purpose behind the leap. An amazing image perfectly captured. One minor little technical issue in that the image is just slightly oversharpened, it is none the less a complete technical and artistic success. Should be a ribbon contender. Well done. |
