This is my daughter and an arabian named Shalimar. Although not her horse, they are good friends. She plays with him like another kid and he happily plays along. In this photo, she is talking about a mud puddle at their feet and that they should not get their shoes muddy or they will have to walk home.
Most changes were made in the RAW converter. Exposure, Clarity, Saturation and Blacks. Image overall was cropped and converted to black and white using overall adjustment layers in normal mode.

Hi Miz Kim, sorry I didn't get to vote...been super busy with orders and Rolex! I love this though, congrats on the ribbon! I love the color treatment and softness, the background is pretty neat also.
Oh, I LOOOOOVE this photo! That beautiful backlighting makes this so enchanting and magical. I am so happy you won a ribbon with this photo. Congratulations!!
WOOT! Congratulations Kim!!!!! Love this shot,a poignant moment, beautiful light, well processed and she looks too old! Put a book on her head or something! LOL, Great capture!
A very interesting capture in that the immediate impression is of beauty, grace and style - a calm moment between the horse and it's friend that became a charming vignette. The halo effect is instantly effective from an artistic sense and the B&W conversion is very well done. This should place high if not a ribbon contender. Well done.
This has to be in the top 5! What a magical moment to capture. This photograph captures so much emotion. Its one of those photographs that you can create a story from, just because its so great!
This has a Jutilda feeling about it and I think I remember that horse from another shot. You're right - lovely lighting, wonderful moment - beautifully processed!
