This is so fantastic, great composition, great exposture, there is so much detail and yet motion blur and all the elements here work so well together.

This is by far one of the best images in this challenge and on the site. It's hard for me to express why I like it so much. Maybe it reminds me of a Geisha with her fans veiling her face. Wonderful. 10

Great photo Lynne. This is one heck of a capture and though its not tack sharp, who really cares. It evokes emotion and perfectly illustrates a release or an ascension. Lots of faves on this one for sure and certainly well deserved. Good luck!

I like this as a B&W. It allows the bird to really take a stronger position in the pic and really enhances the contrast on its head very well. It also improves emotional connection.

FWIW, I am not at all bothered by the softness in this one.

Another type of photo that I typically wouldn't gravitate too. However, all the components come together to make a great shot! The softness of the photo, the light dark contrast, the angle of the wings, the black and white coloring...they all come together and make a spectacular photo. Very visually stimulating. 10

not sharp, but doesn't have to be. composed and toned well. looking for a little more space, but the space you have is well treated in processing - the mottled background enhances the idea of movement conveyed in the bird. 8

this has a really cool feel to it. anticipation. the fact that you caught it right before the wings are about to flap out has the viewer waiting for that action to come. Great capture.

I like that you caught it in mid-flap(?). you've presented a different perspective on the ole "bird flying" picture. It's great.

Wow. What a unique and interesting pose. I really like the composition and the sombre lighting in this, it creates a sense of incompletion. I look at this and just want the bird to open it's wings already! Thank you for contributing something different and stunning!

unusual (in a positive sense) perspective and position of wings for a bird-in-flight shot. nice bokeh. overall far too soft for me. composition is a bit unbalanced, image is almost split in two halves. had also preferred a tad more contrast (i.e. brighter lights)
