Taken in Turkey. Was hoping I got to share this with you!

Simple proccessing. There's just different layers of the same photo.

Post challenge:

I can't believe I "forgot" to straighten the horizon... Probably would've boosted its average with a few points. Thank you for the wonderfull comments!

Yes, this is one capture. Not much my skills as a photographer as it was pure luck. I was hoping for a storm when I was in Turkey with a friend, and I got one! Just lucky the two bolts struck within my 25 sec long exposure.

Something happened when I tried to enter this photo so I had to enter it one more time. Then I forgot to change the lens I used, I hope that doesn't DQ me!!! I've changed it to the one I used now...

I'm hoping to leave comments on as many photo's in this challenge as possible... out of (currently) 1113 images, I gave 92 of them an 8. Your image was one of those 92, placing you well within the top 10% for this challenge.

I can't begin to think how tough it must be to photograph lightning and get the rest of the short properly exposed. I think I would have scored this higher still if there was some more detail readily available on the water and in the front of the clouds. Nonethless, I love the colour hues and energy in this shot.

Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge.

Amazing, simply beautiful. I would give my **** for a shot like this. Could have improved it a hair by rotating one or two degrees clockwise.

I love lightning shots and the way some of the clouds are highlighted is great; I would have liked it better if the sea & foreground clouds were slightly more visible.

Nice capture, I've been trying to capture lighting for awhile now, just never in the right place at the right time. Good job!

A Nice capture, dramatic. I Just don't understand why the 15 pixel tilt to the left, I takes away from the image. I know some may say why worry about a slight tilt but the water line is 15 pixels lower on the left side than the the right. It's enough to make involuntary tilt my head to the left while viewing instead of being able to look at it level. I still find the overall photograph appealing enough to warrant a good score. I would just keep an eye on making sure the horizon is level in future shots.

Good catch of almost identical lightning strikes. The lighting is pretty good and ominous looking also. The horizon seems a bit tilted down to the left.
