 Back in 2006 while on our way back from our annual Utah fall trip we decided to stop at Mono Lake for the sunset. We got lucky.

The landscape crop does not work too well here IMO, I would prefer a square crop with more sky., 6

Nice pic but i'm not too sure where I should be looking at or what the 'anchor' point is- the foreground branches, the mid-ground rocks or the clouds.

I like it, but there i can't see enough to hook me and keep me interested beyond a cursory glance. There are nice touches all over it (reflections in the lake), horizon clouds and hills) but it looks a bit too snapshotty and feels heavy on the left hand side.

Looks like a very old place where "sunset" has multiple meanings: The sun is indeed setting - the obvious meaning... But nature is also in the process of "sunsetting" these rock formations, which appear near the end of their lives. And it's a place where one might, in the twilight of one's life, go to ponder the meaning of existence. Well captured.

I love Mono Lake. Very rarely, you can see still water and beautiful reflections of the sunset clouds in it. You got lucky and you captured it very well.

I have flown over mono lake many times but this is the first I've seen of it at ground level. Interesting formations. Nice reflections. Beautiful sky.
