Nice composition and detail, seems a bit washed out, though, more contrast would probably fix that.

hm, with a touch of post procesing... equal levels at least I think and maybe more sharp

This is surprisingly a very tough bird to capture brilliantly. I have tried many times with limited success. The feathers are easy , I always find the eye toughese to capture crisply. I think you did a good job here in isolating from the flock. 7

The closer you are, the more you need some contrast.

I think I'd like the neck to be a bit sharper to make it really crisp in this image, as overall its low contrast.
