Cant you guys find something unique to say? 70 comments on how the nose is over sharpened..... anyways i only used noise ninja on her once.... I think it was a mix of her makeup and lighting that made it out of wack I wish I had fixed it though.... :( oh well.

Nice looking model, but the image is so over-processed that the skin looks like wax!

Nice close up. The eye draws us in.

Nice portrait, and good detail in the eye. May have been oversharpened a bit though, the skin under the eye has a lot of texture.

Lovely portrait, lovely looking girl.

The processing on this comes across as a bit heavy handed. Great gaze though.

The eye is ok. Nose is over.

something went wrong with the editing between her nose and eye and forehead. Cute model. Nice lighting.

03/16/2009 05:34:22 PM
very intimate portrait, but really needs touch up work.

I think you over sharpened this shot...her pores are way to emphasized. my only other comment and this coming from a hair dresser...tweeze her eyebrows...the brows should "frame" the eye...just as you have framed this picture...otherwise I think you started out with a very appealing shot but went way overboard with the sharping, one more note her eyes are engaging me...this is to bad as your shot has such potential...

either its a portrait or not. if so, why not us the blur technique (or a number of others) for blemishes. if its photojournalism, then dont, but desat a bit. seems caught in between. great model and "look"

a really cute girl, nice composition. Unfortunately, WAY too much neat image...or whatever process you used. you should check out the kodak airbrush plug-in maybe.
she has beautiful eyes

Her skin looks strange, probably the consequence of oversharpenning.

Well captured and presented.

over sharpened imo

The gaze and pose are nice but there's something weird going on with her skin. I'm not sure if it's compression artifacts or what.

Very nice image. It's good to see a few "great" images. This is a perfect reflection of your abilities as a photographer.

Too sharpened and too neatimaged for my taste. Composition is nice.

03/15/2009 07:16:20 AM
i think you may have over done the processing on her skin. Her eyes are great and just jump out but the skin (especially around the top lip and chin) is a bit overly soft

+ she is cute!

8 from me

Nice portrait and great focus on her left eye. Maybe a touch heavy in a few places with the blur or NI. But overall great job.

poor PP skinn look over processed

There's a lot to like here, the pose, lighting, composition, and especially the expression. It looks a tad oversharpened, especially the hair right above nose.

fantastic eye detail and natural skin not smoothed out i like that

Her face looks oversharpened.

03/13/2009 06:30:19 PM
WHY did you do this to this beautiful girl's skin? *sigh* The eye is lovely. But the processing really ruins this for me.

*sigh again* I'm sorry.

The composition and light is wonderful.

Ouch .jpg artifacts, shame its a lovely photo

03/13/2009 03:26:12 PM
Nice portrait, however IMHO over sharpening in the post processing brings out unwanted details in the skin.

03/13/2009 01:11:44 PM
nice lighting but looks alot over-sharpened. Maybe cloning out the sharpening artifacts could help this shot.

03/13/2009 12:51:15 PM
Looks like a great subject and nice lighting, but something really bad happened in the processing. I'm thinking too much Neat Image (or similar) is probably the culprit.

The face seems a little over processed in areas.
  Photographer found comment helpful.
03/12/2009 09:18:47 PM
Beautiful model. skin looks over-processed specially around nose-eye areas. blotches on nose and top of lips could be removed. Also I would keep the chin in any portrait.. the helps define the face better...

03/12/2009 06:27:01 PM
There is a lot of texture beside her nose that is really distracting for me - maybe it's because of the lighting on that side of her face? I think a softer light might help smooth out her skin.
  Photographer found comment helpful.
03/12/2009 04:10:53 PM
I don't know if it is the makeup or overediting, but it seems "caked" (for lack of a better word) under her eye and around her nose.

03/12/2009 03:51:06 PM
Good pic but looks a bit touched up.

Feels a bit over sharpened, but still a nice portrait with a good DOF

03/12/2009 03:24:45 PM
Unfortunately it suffers a bit from sharpening artifacts.

03/12/2009 03:22:45 PM
Is she angry? Is she sad? Is she going to smack you till you get the camera out of her face?
03/12/2009 02:57:30 PM
Love the soft lines you achieved here. She really has a lot of personality to her face. Really like how her hair falls over her right eye and produces a nice shadow. Crop and her angle is great.

03/12/2009 12:43:09 PM
The eye in light looks great, it is clear and captures you.

03/12/2009 12:07:01 PM
Nice portrait, but unfortunately some issue with selective sharpening / softening are making her nose, for example, very strange...

the focus on her eye is great

hhhmmmmm. sooo ....!!
03/12/2009 01:40:14 AM
really unfortunate sharpening artifacts here. Love the right-eye catchlight.

03/12/2009 12:32:20 AM
neat image? effects are showing or it could just be make-up, either way its a little distracting.
  Photographer found comment helpful.
03/11/2009 10:43:16 PM
I like the composition and lighting, but there are strange artifacts in some areas of the skin, for example just to either side of each strand of hair across the forehead, along the centerline of the nose. Are these compression artifacts or a side effect of some other processing? Too much sharpening maybe? Not my area of expertise, but a bit distracting given the clarity of the shot.

03/11/2009 07:32:45 PM
good portrait - but over processed
  Photographer found comment helpful.
03/11/2009 05:23:03 PM
nice portrait, but her skin is a little too processed giving her more of a cartoonish look, i like the composition and the light
  Photographer found comment helpful.
03/11/2009 03:57:52 PM
Ya you guessed it..oversharpened.
  Photographer found comment helpful.
03/11/2009 03:51:46 PM
Woah, I don't know what's going on with the skin here... It looks like artifacts, or over sharpening, or misapplication of neat image... Whatever the case, it really hurts the shot.
  Photographer found comment helpful.
03/11/2009 01:58:09 PM
Pretty girl, nice natural light, though based on the appearance of the skin I suspect the photo is over-sharpened.

Maybe over-sharpened a little?

This lovely face would have looked much better with a different editing, something softer for the skin. You can find some tips under the section Learn How'd They Do That, this is one link, under Tutorials another by BRAD link.
I hope this could give you some advice.

I like how only that one eye is the main subject in a facial portrait. Nice!

03/11/2009 08:28:33 AM
good focus and crop, too much artfacts from softening and sharpening processes

Post processing needs to be improved. Oversharpening artifacts on the strands of hair , eyelids , skin very obvious.

beautiful portrait and good catch lights

03/11/2009 04:56:07 AM
Really nice use of DOF and light to draw you to her eye. I especially like the catchlight in the dark eye. The difference between the two seems to convey a depth in her personality in a way.
