Beautiful, under-appreciated (by voters) photo.

I followed your link to your deviantart page; excellent work there as well.

I hope you stop by once and awhile and enter some challenges. Your work is a treat to see here.

Beautiful shot, I love the colros in this, the skin seems a little yellow/green and I think that adds to the feeling of fantasy here.

Lovely dreamy quality to this image.

I'm really drawn into this shot, it's great as it hints at so many things, the green grass, the pale woman. It's moody and I like it! Well done and thnak you for this great image!

Nicely processed, love the tones and the sense of mystery created by having only the persons limbs in frame

Nice soft focus and vignette effect fits the picture well. The arms are a little over-exposed.

I really like this shot. Its unique, breaks some of the rules, and is effective at evoking a mood in the viewer.

Aptly titled.

lovely editing on this. you took a very simple photo and gave it a punch that isn't overdone. I think the title would be better if it was something about the subject instead of her surroundings. The anonymity makes the photo easy to connect with but the emotion is sort of ambiguous. Is she sad? Or just relaxing in her surroundings? Not saying that is a bad thing...

03/15/2009 08:19:46 PM
strong emotion and i wish the title reflected it more

Soft, fresh colors, but such a sense of sadness or loneliness. Beautifully done.

Well composed, but the color treatment is a bit deterring for me.

Even the skin tones, which doesn't work for me....

I like the acidic green of this. It offers a subtlety and leaves the interpretation up to the viewer.

I like the concept but I would have like to have seen a little more detail in the skin

EDIT - I've bumped this to a 9 on my second pass. Not sure what it is but I love this photo. I love the green tones and the models pose which says to 'sorrow'. I almost feel sad for her! Great work and I hope it does well. -- Original comment-- This is odd, but this image immediately stirred me but I'm not sure quite why. I really like it. Good luck for the challenge.

Even the arms and legs. Interesting pose and hand position. The green tinge isn't doing it for me.

Composition is well done, with the arms and legs leading me right to your subject. I do like the saturated green grass, but on my monitor I'm getting a bit of green on the sky also.

Very dreamy. I could perhaps use less green in the skin tones, but that's a minor nit pick.

this is a really good composition...but your color/tone is blown out to much...her arm looks washed out (I know she is pale...but this looks lifeless)

03/14/2009 10:16:59 AM
too bad too. Needs better color balanced to the skin tones.

Absolutely striking! Beautiful composition, mood, and colors. Her dark hair makes the photo. It seems like a kind of lyrical image that would inspire songs and poetry.

I like the bold cropping and the pose of the model, but the color hue is just too yellow and definitely will not be to everyone's taste, 6

It was her place away from life. Where she could come and let out all her frustrations, think about all her worries, reflect on all her decisions.

It was a place away from her stresses, where she could scream or laugh or cry or dance among the grasses. Where she could just stare into the clouds and create alternate universes in which to escape among the imaginary figures they shaped.

It was her place, and none could take it from her.
