This is Alexandra, Miss Iceland 2008, I posted another shot of her from this photoshoot the other day. I have always liked shallow DOF portraits outdoors so I am currently working on implementing that in studio portraits, here I really like the outcome. Lighting was 5 lights but for this particular shot, only a big softbox and a white bounce card are affecting the shot. Post processing was minimal, just raw conversion, some retouching and enhanced the colors in her eyes.

Makeup is done by Björg.

Alexandra is competing this next saturday in www.missworld.com, if you want to see her competitors or support her by voting, go Iceland!

Ohhh - I loved this shot. I feel better about my crummy shots getting 1's 2's and 3's seeing that you have some too. Geez - what are they thinking :-)

An all around nice portrait. I like it. Those blue eyes look great.

Beautiful eyes. The photo feels a little over exposed. The bottom lip seem too reflective.

He stood frozen to the spot, quite literally, as the gaze of the Ice Queen penetrated his core. He'd heard the legends, listened to the warnings, but had been caught quite unprepared in the end. What he hadn't counted on was her sheer beauty and charm. It was so cliche, the sturdy warrior, enraptured by the beautiful but evil sorceress, that it was simply embarrassing. He knew better, he didn't consider himself the stereotypical mindless male, but here he was, ice forming and creeping up his legs, threatening to wrap him entire.

With frost already forming on his lips, he managed a weak smile. So this is how it ends then, trapped by femininity because of an instinct undenied. His mind screamed at him to fight, but his body simply wouldn't resist. So the ice continued to form, and soon she would have a new decoration in her crystal chamber.

8 - Make up is good - a little less 'rose/pink' packs even more punch in my opinion - but .. just my opinion. The eyes are showcased well with those 'frozen lashes'. Be nice to see this totally about the eyes and free of any minor distractions (which only appear the more I look at this).. but perhaps that is 'another image'.

I'm finding this a bit overenhanced looking for me. Good, but just not my taste, I think.

I'm not real fond of the blurred chin. I love the tack sharp on the eyes.

Well shot... I'm not sure of the purpose of the white eyelashes... I think they detract from her obvious beauty... but it's your vision. Not mine. *grin* It's also well processed. (not voting yet)
