This was definitely something different for me.. I've never tried taking a strictly abstract photo before so I really didn't have any idea what to do. Reading the description made me think of my bottle collection, and in particular this one pretty red one... which is seen in the photograph. The background is just coloured sticky notes arranged on an old mailer envelope, lol. The paper crinkles can be seen and the photo's not very interesting anyway, but I thought I'd enter it anyway just to prove I can in fact take colourful photos... if not very well. ;)

Editing: I cloned out some distracting reflections in the bottle and dodged/burned some of the more obvious paper rumples, which shouldn't violate the new rules... then I used NeatImage to clean it up, smooth out some reflections and the texture of the paper background a bit. The colours that I had available were a little bland, so I ued hue/saturation to change them.. just a bit of a slide for everything to the left, and I thought it was more interesting. Aside from that, cropping, and resizing, I think all I did was add the border.

Good design and idea. I like this a lot, but for some reason, I am a bit distracted by the lack of squareness and alignment in the background tiles.

I like the picture! I think you captured what abstract is about but I think the green border just takes away from this other wise perfect pic.

LOSE THE FRAME....you have enough clash without it....WOW WHAT A BAD COLOR OF THE FRAME(and that don't necessarily mean just the green!)....everything else is GREAT!

I have given this a 9. This is the thing abstract should be, and i'm quite envious that you have a good eye for colour and shapes. The red is beautiful - so very bold. I only didn't give it full marks because i found the white border to the purple and yellow sheets of paper a bit distracting - it's not nearly as apparent on the left between the blue and the turquoise, though. Composition is great.

Wow, this wouldn't look out of place in a modern art gallery. (I honestly don't mean this as an insult, I mean you've captured the challenge 100%.) Excellent picture!

Don't really care for the lime green border. It takes the focus away from the photo. 6

Hmm Nice, No Idea what it is. Finally a boarder that seems... in place. Great us of a Metallic red color next to hard almost "neon" colors.

oh... is it a ten?
or a nine?
Wish i could give a nine and a half as it is only the frame that i don't like.
Oh, go on then, have a ten.
Well done.
