Now when you see this comment and who it is from you may be surprised to see that I am writing that the flower adds absolutely nothing to this shot....the rust and the composition of it are really great and you just did not need to add the flower. A frest floser of a less clashing color might have worked better, but not as well as the rust by itself IMHO.

interesting photo ... feel like I can "touch" the brittle rose.

Your lighting looks a little too harsh and it is blowing out some of the detail.

The dried flower on the rust is a great emotive shot, as well as obviously meeting the challenge. Well done!

nice job

I like the way the wilted texture mirrors the rust texture. Very thoughtful. I also like the way you've arranged the elements, it creates a nice blending of colors and shapes. Very nice.

A flower on rust is a bit of a cliche, but the wilted nature of the flower helps it to avoid that monotony to a certain degree. In this case, the flower has something in common with the rust. This is a vanitas still life. It is very well done, though I would like to see it include more on the left.

The detail and clarity of this... marvelous. Lovely composition, and it meets the challenge well. 10

Nice composition. Like the dry flower juxtaposed with the decaying rust.

Good use of color to contrast with the rust. The age of the rose complements the the rough rusty service fairly well.

the lightning is kinda funky, but very nice picture

This is so very good. It took me a couple of looks to actually see what is going on in this image but "better late than never." Everything works well here from the harmonizing colors to the elegant composition. If I was going to "pick nits" I might wonder about the slightly blurred foreground, but not to worry, this photograph is so good, that would probably grow on me too! 10

love the age shown in both objects....my only question is...how did the rose happen to fall on the rusted metal? whats the story? maybe could've pulled back a little to show more of the surroundings. good shot

great composition, color and idea

good one.

The surface for the dried flower is highly intriguing. The lighting is a little harsh for my taste.
