I generally don't pick challenge entries as 'Favorite' photos. But in this case I will make an exception. I just love this photo. His pose is sooooo cute and I can't get over it. While it placed high, I still think it was underrated.

this is fabulous! I love the little paws curled under at the chest.
Great catch!

This was one of my few 10's I gave out. Seriously under rated I thought. Nice capture.

Yea, you missed the focus on the nose, but you got the ears. Man, those things are cute! Great muted colors.

PostLuminous Award Nominee!
wonderful in every way--tonal choices, dof, subject, composition
the oof nose, which troubled you, seems to me to suggest a bit of motion, instead, almost as if s/he is speaking :-)

That's probably the cutest squirrel shot I've ever seen. Like something out of a children's book.

Can I please have that peanut now?
This is a great shot, nice expression. Goes to show and ordinary subject can still make a very good shot.

Great shot and DOF. Bumping it up a point after looking at it several times.

This little guy is soooooo cute to me - it's like he has some human quality to his/her expression. I love it. The focus whether done in camera or in photoshop is very cool. I like the dull/drab colors: 10

I love this shot. The post processing looks great and the wee guy almost looks like he's standing begging for a nut. At first I wondered if he was a stuffed squirrel, as this would be a pretty damn difficult shot to get otherwise but his eyes look real. Very cute either way and great focus/sharpness on his face.

It's Oliver Twist Squirrel: "Please, sir, I want some more." The eye contact is ridiculously endearing; I just love this pose! The processing works well, too, although there is a bit of white near his tail on the left/bottom that looks like some sort of intestinal worm (sorry for that thought) which I would have cloned/blurred out of existence.

A squirrel that's been Lens Babied ??

Really good effect here - looks very 3D ! and nice matching muted tones.

Very very good.

I suspect this will do either really well with the voters or really badly - and I don't know which . .

But I hope it does well !

Just come back to fav this - sadly I'm not voting in this challenge, but if I was this would be straight into my shortlist

Perhaps my favorite challenge photo, the only thing preventing me from bumping this to a "10" is that your subject is not a more traditional form of wildlife.

That is SO CUTE!!!! I wish we had squirrels in Australia, they have to be the most gorgeous little animals alive. And your capture of it is fantastic, the depth of field works really well, and the colours are great. Would you please catch one and send it to me?

I like this guy. He has so much personality I want to give him a name. I think the cross processed look works, but I'm kind of confused. It looks like the top of his head is relatively normal, then from about the nose down has this fuzzy blue look. Maybe there should be more transition? 7

This is absolutely wonderful. I've not made it very far through the challenge yet, but I suspect this may well be my favorite even after I finish voting. "May I have some more?" or "Hello, I'm wondering if you're interested in purchasing some life insurance." Just delightful! The post processing is lovely with the slight acidic tones.
OK, it's official. I'm done voting, and this is still my favorite of the challenge!

A shame to have missed his foot and tail, the pose of the animal and angle you have taken this shot gives him/her a real personality.

"Please sir, give me some nuts"

The processing is a little atrange, but I like it.

Well done!

Now that's a well fed squirrel! I really like the sdof, your eyes are brought right to the squirrels head and your crisp focus makes it just pop - love the catch light in the eyes, gives it such personality.. looks like it should be an illustration in a children's book - an excellent photo, suits the challenge perfectly - bumping the score right up!
