 Well - I didnt really see a ribbon coming with this one. I had hoped but I figured there would have been several 7s above me.

Anyways - this is a shot of my daughter on my sons school playground. I had shot her playing hopscotch the week previous in a desire to channel nixter, so when this challenge came up I figured I would go back and try something similar. It was cold and raining that morning and Rowan was not being too cooperative. And the shots didnt come out as I had hoped when I got them on the computer to look at them. We went back to pick up Aidan a bit early and played around some more. It wasnt as cold and the rain had stopped but I really liked the look of the umbrella (besides it hid her face and I hoped to not be as recognizable - yet hotpasta still called me out). This was the very first shot of that second "session". And I must admit I was very pleased with it.

Nothing really fancy with the editing. The numbers are permanently on the pavement. And Rowan plays hopscotch every morning and afternoon when Aidan goes to and from school.

Thank you for the votes and faves and above all the ribbon. The further I get along in my time here at DPC the more amazed I am that I can ribbon with images of my children - recognizable or not. Thank you.

This is nice, photos right on target. Reminds me of a bullseye target. Great isolation of subject and juxtaposition of hard-concrete and soft-feet.

I played this sort of hopscotch so much when I was a kid, best game around, but kinda need shoes, that texture will eat your feet right up.

KNEW IT WAS YOURS!!!! I must know your children so well that I even recognise their feet :) Tim, you are a wonder, so never apologise for photographing your kids. In years to come, they will thank you. You JUST beat me...grrrr.

I was just thinking how, even though it quite popular, it's actually difficult to get a photograph to look good with the b&w AND color technique. But this is perfect.

Wonderful image! I am wondering if the Hopscotch was created just to shoot for the challenge :-). Fits the theme, very nice and gets the attention of viewers in composition, color use, texture etc.

My fav in this challenge... this would definitely do well in this challenge... Though the red colored umbrella goes with the red spot on the road, why is she holding the umbrella? It doesn't seem to be like it is raining. Other than that it has all chances of being on top 5 or even a ribbon. Good luck!

Love this one, reminds me of when I used to play this on the playground. Great use of vibrant color over black and white, really makes it pop. Good framing and good motion shot.
