For those who asked, Jade is considered a succulent (doesn't need much water) and is a common plant in California and Arizona gardens. I don't know whether it is eatable or not but I certainly wouldn't eat it. And the "misting" was natural, I took the picture early Saturday morning after it rained. I was sorry I had to crop it like I did. However, to achieve the 480 X 640 requirement, part of the right side had to go. Thanks for all the great comments. This is a marvelous website.

Nice macro work!

Very nice macro. Love the water.

The water sells this one for me.
04/13/2002 09:38:00 AM
Very rich colors, nice focal point. The wetness is a nice touch.
04/13/2002 01:23:00 AM
great focus; the framing's...weird-the right side's cut off

Definitely one of my favotires. Great curves, and great colors. Good job!

I love the contrasting colors of the red and green! The water drops give good dimesion as well. Your framing is slightly off, cut off on the right side and another flower on the left. The blurred background is nice. Good job!

The color and detail in this shot are fantastic, I love the way the smaller leaves are glowing, but it doesn't feel balanced to me. Try some alternate framing.

Very nice shot. Good composition and great colors. Doesn't really emphasize the curves, though they are definitely present. Ranks higher as a photo than as an entry, but still a great picture.

omigosh. the colors are gripping! and you sprayed the flower didn't you? love the way the dew just drips off it.

I really love this photo. The colors and lighting are perfect to me. I like how it stands out and I also like the way the drops are hanging on to the plant. It makes me wish for Spring to hit my town :) Beautiful!

I love the red edges they really highlight the curves.

I'd like this a lot more if the other object in the top left weren't so in focus.
04/09/2002 10:01:00 AM
What a beautiful, sharp picture! Very good color correction and nice composition.

Wonderful shot! You did a good job with this one.

this is a very nice photo. well done, nice focus, good composition. unfortunately, the subject doesn't do much for me, but that's just personal taste. nice shot.
04/09/2002 07:32:00 AM
wonderful closeup
04/09/2002 07:02:00 AM
Nice color, and the wetness adds to it.

Pretty!

Good macro. Nice use of light. Looks like it would have been easy to have blown highlights, but you did a good job. Depth of field seems perfect for this subject. I gave it a 10.
04/08/2002 07:34:00 PM
very pretty picture. looks edible. i think you overdid the misting, tho.
04/08/2002 05:18:00 PM
Cracking shot - doesn't look a bit jaded to me, nice composition.
04/08/2002 04:12:00 PM
Very rich colours, and the droplets help break up the uniformity, adding more depth to the surfaces, but as a consequence the texture is lost.
04/08/2002 04:11:00 PM
What a beautiful picture ! The wetness just tops it off !
04/08/2002 12:38:00 PM
This is a very nice macro and the depth of field is almost perfect. The lighting is also impressive. I didn't like the thumbnail view of this photo but at full size, it's quite appealing!

Nice job.....what is it?
04/08/2002 08:59:00 AM
nice macros. beautiful color.
04/08/2002 08:47:00 AM
Great macro shot. Strong colours and love the water - did you spray this or is it natural ? :) Bit too tightly cropped on the right side.
04/08/2002 02:27:00 AM
I love this. Simple and powerful. I've pulled it up to look at several times. Pretty good composition. The drops of water made me a little thirsty. I'm sorry I don't have more constructive comments but anything I say would be a nit-pick that I'd rather not search for. I can't wait to photography my gardens.

the colours are great on this one
