Sweet shot! We have these in the botanical garden here, in various colors, they are so pretty. A challenge to get a nice BG, though. The best bet is usually the deep shade behind them, as you captured here.
If this is a hanging flower, as it looks, it's an Angels Trumpet or Brugmansia. Datura, or loco weed, flowers open rightside up. The Angels Trumpet seed pod is smooth. The seed pod of loco weed is extremely prickly, called a 'thorn apple.' These flowers are so interesting. You can find datura growing in the boiling sun & brick-hard earth at the edge of a road or ditch--the flowers open up in the late afternoon, stay open all night for moths to pollinate, & are gone by noon the next day. The two are related, both are considered poisonous. Lots of info if you google. |
