Wow. This little bugger was hard to shoot. Morning light was fine. To get a descent picture I used a 50 mm and got up close. . . problem is the breeze would not cooperate. I wanted a detailed shot with an f stop of 22 requiring a slow shutter speed. This was as good as it got. Nothing clever. Standard post processing.
I wish I had added something as a reference to its size. The leaves behind it don't really help any.

Just got a look at patio127's composition of this same flower that she did for a challenge. Like hers a lot.

Thank you all for the nice comments. I never even thought of simply cloning out those stems. I am so hung up on meeting challenge rules that I simply forget doing the obvious here in the side challenge! Yes. They were clipped off flowers. For a print, I will do exactly as suggested. Thank you.

Someone below makes an interesting point about the broken stems. I'd assume that this is where you or someone has trimmed off an expired blossom or blossoms have fallen off? They do distract from the beauty of the whole, but look like they'd be really easy to clone out.

They do look orchid-like, but unique at the same time. I know what you mean about breezes; it's been quite breezy here which has royally messed up quite a few planned shots!

Pretty blossoms, and you've shown all their detail. Leaves are nice too. What happened where it looks like the stems are broken off?

The level of detail you have captured is impressive. The bright lilies are a lovely contrast to the green leaves. What odd-looking flowers these are, with a party-animal color scheme. Well done!

Nice job! The big DOF including both flowers in good detail, as well as some of the leaves behind them is a nice change from the shallow DOF shots.
They look a lot like a small version of passion flower plants, or like some kind of orchid with the lovely colors.
