Picture taken on rainy morning at Hains Point. I usually don't like to take pictures of sculptures but this one is interesting and powerful. It's called "The Awakening" and is a 100 foot giant arising from the earth. His feet and one knee are also exposed but were under construction. On a sunny day there would have been kids climbing all over this guy. Contrast and colors were adjusted using Photoshop Elements.

One of the great things about this site is that you get to see things from places you've never been before. This is a cool shot-black and white appropriate. Very big and very strong :)

What size is it actually? I guess it's pretty big.
lightning is too dark at both hands/ right arm, you can't see the details

My first reaction is that this is really about someone else's creativity and artwork rather than your own. That said the viewpoint you have chosen makes for a very striking composition and the subtly toned black and white is also very flattering.

Could you have taken this from a lower angle to remove the horizon from over the face? - nice picture otherwise

Wow this is very interesting! Nice crop, not sure about the color though.

Hmm... doesn't this break the "no photos of artwork?" (Been there myself) :)

Very nice composition. Same subject could had look very common, but the "point of view" chossen make your shoot be very artistic. I will rise your score a little ;)
