Well, there are certainly no children in it...

This seems like a shoehorn entry to me -- nothing specific to childhood here.

I have a personal soft spot for sunsets, but i don't seen any connnection to the theme of the shoot.

nice sunset, but nothing about this specifically evokes the idea of "childhood" for me - 5

I don't see anything here that specifically says "childhood". I like the sunbeams appearance, but it's not an outstanding sunset shot otherwise.

DNMC?

Nice picture, but I'm confused how this applies to the challenge?

Nice picture overall. Doesnt really relate to Childhood Without Children...

not getting it

Nice picture (mind the camera) but not fitting the title.

You might have had winter sunsets in your childhood, but this picture does not express childhood to me. Furthermore, you might want to wait a little longer next time, sunsets are so much prettier after they occurred.

I assume this must be a childhood memory for you. It doesn't evoke childhood for me... just a nice sunset. Actually, kind of makes me want a beer! :)

I like the star effect on the sun and the warm light on the clouds. Lighting is a little flat and washed out and the sand is dark.

I'm marking you low because I don't get the childhood thing.

Don't see childhood...

How does this make the viewer think of 'Childhood'? It may be a memory for you, but in order to follow the theme, it needs to portray the essence of the theme in a more universal way. Your perceptions of this image are guided by your own experiences that are unique to you. Others will not see it the same way. Great job on the sunset though. I do like the image.

Missed the challenge.

in my opinion, dnmc

This is pretty... but doesn't say 'childhood' to me. Also, it's so dark that I can't see that the horizon is straight. The other lines are making it appear unlevel.

This looks strange somehow - over and under exposed. What is the childhood element? Am I missing something?
01/23/2008 06:42:53 AM
I don't see how this meets the challenge. Perhaps it represents a personal memory you have.

Too bad you couldn't use HDR on this shot.
