I did not know that, thank you!

Did you know that African heart-nosed bats can hear the footsteps of a beetle walking on sand from a distance of more than six feet? I bet you didn't. Now you've learned 2 things from comments, ever.

I visited Austin for the first time last weekend during the Austin City Limits Festival. I saw a bunch of people line up on a bridge out my hotel window, and couldn't figure out why. I stayed at the Hyatt Regency on Barton Springs. Is this the bridge that the hotel overlooks? I really loved Austin, by the way!

I'm not sure I get the bats reference, but I like the shot a lot. The rippled water is beautiful!

What the fuck?......

Initial=for bats? OMG! Like how the sunset enhances this scene rather than being the focal point.
Composition=well done. Like the choice of the figures on the bridge.
Clarity (focus, details)=very good.
Exposure=excellent.
Interesting or Emotive=sunsets or similar lighting always elicits warm emotions for me and I'm sure others... The movement in the people and the water is also interesting.

I am using a this new detailed commenting method inspired by autool. (Thanks
autool!). I hope you find it more helpful than my former comments.
Thanks for submitting, and good luck! ;0)

Normally I would not like a photo with so many horizontal lines cutting it into segments, however something here works for me. Great color. Awesome contrast.

What a wonderful shot, and the people on the bridge watching the sunset makes it even better. Very nice and one of my favorites this week. Good luck in the challenge. Grayce aka Gracious

Simply stunning. Especially like the colours and the composition. The people on the bridge makes this shot interesting. I love the light reflections off the water as well. 10/10 in my book. Very good capture.

Confusing title. Nice picture.
09/23/2002 08:34:00 PM
very nice! I love the rich orange in this sunset... the reflections in the water and the symmetry of this photo work very well... The only minor issue I see here is a little image degradation in the sky above the bridge... great shot :) = 9 - jmsetzler *************** Update :) - Is this Congress Avenue????? ;)

Awesome colors and composition. Even the textures (the smooth sky versus the 'wrinkled' water) are great!
09/23/2002 02:03:00 PM
interesting premise. i think that without more context though, the title might be baffling or seem whimsical. this is a great 'time of day; shot. good lighting and dof. overall this shot doesnt really give me an emotional response, but it is pretty. mag99

Beautiful! I love your composition and color saturation. I wonder about the title, will you explain it afterwards please?

This must be Gordon, the other Austinite, i guess. Congress bridge, at dawn, taken on Saturday (the only day in the week when the weather was clear) :-) Should've taken one where the clouds were abound, would've been much more interesting as a photograph instead of a graduated change of color (and quite noisy too possibly due to sharpening). In case you're not Gordon, Bats in Austin are very popular. paganini
