Love this desatruated look. Unusual, unique and awesome light. All that of course darling child.

Interesting shot, nice use of DOF to focus on blanket texture. Nice desaturation.

I like the coloring and dof selected on this shot. It feels like it should be rotated a touch to the right because it feels like she (?) is on her head.

The out of focus area in the fore is very distracting. Good example of texture otherwise

I really like this photo. Shows the textures very well and the soft coloring is just beautiful.

Great portrait. The colors seem a little strange and most of your texture is out of focus, but I still like this shot. Just not so much as a 'Texture' challenge entry.

Lovely shot. One of the better of the challenge.

This is a very cool portrait! I love the tones here. Is this a duo tone or tri or quad? If so, I would love the recipe! Focus is spot on for a portrait. Unfortunately for this challenge (textures) the theme has been de-emphasized here. A deeper DOF would help in this regard. Overall a great shot that I'm sure will not score as well as it would in another challenge...

I really like your use of DOF to enhance the texture in the blanket.

This is absolutely precious. The colors are perfect - I can "feel" the texture of the childs skin and the "blankie". Very sweet!

I love the desaturation effect of this photo. It really is striking. The blurred DOF draws the eyes upward to your main subject. Good work!

Beautiful shot. I'd maybe crop a little off the bottom. Her eyes are so intense, I bet she gets whatever she wants.

I like the faint color, but texture just seems to be a minor feature, not the central idea. (yeah, I know, "smooth")

delightful expression and nice lighting. To make this solid image better, I'd like to see the fuzzy stuff cropped out of the foreground

this is right up my alley. i love desaturated yet still color pictures. nice job.

More DOF would have made this meet the theme better, IMHO.

I think this would have been stronger with the head at a bit of an angle and not completely horizontal. Nice idea.

Oh how I love subdued colors. Never see it on DPC really. Great DOF too really draws ones eye to hers. 10

I wish for more focus on the blanket and maybe less on the child, because the blanket is suposed to be the hero in a textures challenge

This picture really drags you in and won't let go. The contrast of the blanket to the smooth face is good and the eyes have highlights that really lift them and grab the attention. The fuzzy bit at the bottom of the picture really gives a depth to the image. This is one of my top 5 favourites in this challenge.

Good mood - great use of muted colour, and you've captured a wistful moment well, and the catch-light in the eyes really lends some life to what might have been a rather drear scene without it. I do find the out-of-focus foreground area to be distracting - mainly because it seems to loom up into the image, rather than being a function of distance - don't get much sense of teh blanket receding into focus, if you follow me. texture? Good smoothness of skin, and a sense of softness and not or wiriness in the blanket. Borderline twee for me - I find that with a lot of child portraits, but excellently done.

+ Interesting pose and a lovely contrast between the fur of the blanket and the smooth skin of your subject. I like the colours as well.
- Can't really think of any.

The blanket is the source of texture and you can't really get a sense of it with the shallow dof..but what a great pic on it's own.

Jusging by your title, the main subject in your image is (or shuld be) the blanket. However her lovely emotive eyes have become the focus of this composition and there is not much texture flowing from there. Good luck.

nice pic, but too much of the subject - the blanket - is out of focus (DOF issues)

Based on your title, i was expecting to see texture from your daughter's blanket. It would have been better if you had her oof and focused on the blanket instead.
