Taken at a pond on school grounds. Noticed this brilliant red dragonfly flitting about and waited for it to touch down. A difficult shot as it was quite far away from the edge. I believe it was worth it.

Great shot and POV. Excellent texture contrast.

Nice strong diagonal. The bacground is distracting, but you didn't set that up. Focus seems to be up front.

Awesome colors and compostion.

Good one.

Photos like this make me feel very out of my league... Where do you live that you have insects and weather like this in February? And can I please come live with you? 9.

Love the clarity of the wings and the red/green contrast.

great macro. I wish the background was a little darker, as that shade of green so light is a little to powerful for the naked human eye! Ha, still a 10

I like it a lot, but I don’t really connect the photo to a creative interpretation of the theme texture. Not off topic or anything, but does the viewer connect it to texture? Or is there something in the picture that makes you think about other themes? Looking back at my own entry, I see the same weakness… I like the DOF and thered texture of the wings.

strong diagonal, title helps me focus on the element you saw as most interesting, excellent texture (and I am so not a bug person)

I'd have cropped it tighter.

Fine study. You've captured some texture in those wings for sure - real fragility there, and also some degree of feel to the stick. DOF is excellent, and also the colour. Photographically, it doesn't quite appeal to me so much - perhaps that rush of colours in the background, but an excellent wildlife macro, for all that.

good bug shot - the bg is a bit too luminous(sp?) for my tastes. Not sure if it's been oversaturated in ps or just very light.

It's a bug, but I'll be it'll be a bug at the top! Really nice shot with nice detail and texture. I think this will end up near the top.

Gooc shot, seeing that to get really close to the wings to capture the texture you would have to kill the dragon fly.
