| I like the way you composed the shot. The depth of field helps to give the starfish some really good interest. I like the lighting that you chose. The shadows and highlights really bring out the great details on the surface. "10" |

| I had an intense phobia of starfish as a kid (seriously). Luckily, I have grown out of it so I didn't freak out when I saw this. Only a little. The texture is very good. |

| Yes, these guys really do have lots of bumps and patterns. Good seeing. It's alwlays tough on these closeups, but if you could work on getting even more depth of field, it would really make this image jump! Keep up the good work. |

| This may be the first time I've seen a shot with on-board flash that actually achieves some quality of texture :-) makes it look very hard - though as it's presumably dead that's probably accurate. The top shadow is a shame - constantly pulls the eye away from that in-focus area where I think, for this challenge, you'd want the eye to rest. Actually, in classicla composition terms, you have leading lines working against your area of interst, which is what makes this a little unsatisfying despite the good texture. |
