Nice idea, I had a similar one but couldn't manage the time to get it. I think the picture would be better if you crop it so the kids would be closer to the viewer.

from a photo standpoint, I don't think this is much more than a snapshot, but what a wonderfully poignant and tender moment you have captured. She looks wonderf ully excited to take on a new challenge in life, but I suspect it was quite difficult for you to let go... great interpretation of the challenge.

I think that a lot of your voters will probably have problems understanding this picture but I think it captures a feeling that we all need to deal with at some point in time. I would guess you probably arent getting the results you want, but Im giving you a 7 because I like how this picture made me feel.

I had this same shot in my head as a possibility. I think all mothers and fathers can appreciate the "letting go" factor in this shot! The photo itself is very well done with good exposure and composition. I like how she's walking away from you with that quick look back and wave.

winner of the "Aww" award. If you are a parent this touches you. nice capture. Technically so-so, emotionally loaded.

You're on to a great capture of the "letting kids go" motif in this challenge. I would like to see a bit less of the bus - more of a backdrop to your main subject.

You might want to get down a little so your more on her level, closer also. The bus is in focus but she is not......she is the subject. Good luck in the challenge.

nice effort. like the idea. A crop at the top getting rid of that white sky would have framed this better.

I don't get it! What does this pic. have with "letting go"???
it is more like "see you later"...

I was thinking of doing something like this, but could not find a child.
