Challenge: Letting Go (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon EOS-D60

Shutter: 60

My cousin the pro. Shot with a D60 using a cabled studio light, it was a great experience for both of us. It wasn't easy for her to be the one taking direction instead of giving it, the first set of photos weren't great since she was pretty uncomfortable . Ultimately these turned out to be my favorite pics that I've ever taken. The edited versions of these are much more flattering and dramatic and are in my actual portfolio for school :-)

Great Photo Lori. Your cousin reminds me so much of the pretty gal in the Shallow DOF challenge pic entitled "Natural Beauty." Good luck to you in future entries.

Nice portrait of a nice girl. But doesnt really feel anything letting go. Maybe I didn't get it...sorry...still a very nice shot.

nice picture, but without the title we wouldn't think about "letting go"?

and I thought I was the only fool who went around taking pictures of myself! You are very beautiful and you wear your expressive expressions well in your eyes.

Nice image and lovely lady but doesn't satisfy theme for me.

Your gorgeaus but you can't push the meaning of "letting go" that far :)

How does this fit the Challenge subject?

Nice approach to "letting go." Wonderful portrait shot -- I love the lighting and the angle of the shot. The DOF is just a touch short, giving me a mouth in perfect focus, but the eyes are just a bit soft -- not much, but just a touch. Still, not as distracting as the blurry, but not blurry enough left hand at the right edge of the photo and the mystery buttons in the lower left corner of the photo. I don't think I'd try to crop them out though -- this shot works better as a landscape oriented photo than if you cropped off both sides. Now that my nits have been picked, I'd still like to say, nice photo and well done. Kudos to the non-photographer who shot this image of the photographer, letting go.

At first your image to me, was just of a female, but after reading the title, I think this makes much more sense that I originally thought. Excellent inner meaning!
