Went down to the water around 3, and spent some time shooting the light bouncing off these cat tails, then some seagulls came around to check me out and I shot them too!

Beautiful light on the cat tails. A great place to spend an afternoon shooting. :)

Great shot! What a great place to spend some time and take photos. The clouds are great. The is framed nicely with the grasses.

Couldn't you move the cloud a little to the right? or up a bit? (I just hate those kind of comments). This is a seriously beautiful shot and it carries off nicely in B&W. Absolutely love the back lighting and highlighting of the cattails(?). You've got everything - a nice puffy cloud, a flying bird, pleasing lens flare, interesting foreground subject, pier posts, and even a bridge in the background. What more could you want (besides that cloud, I mean)? ;-p

Nice image Dennis. The bird's a bonus catch - brings some movement to the image.

I think the lens flare actually works in this shot, something I don't often think. This is a great use of a big foreground subject.
