Didn't get a chance to shoot yesterday, so pulled this one out of my daughter from earlier in the month and processed it for Day 14. I liked it in color, but think it works well in B&W. A little soft, because shooting with my Pentax 50-200mm at full zoom (200 mm). In addition to my usual processing added some gaussian blur at about 20% opacity at the end, which smoothed out the skin a bit from the extra USM I added earlier in processing.
Roger's right ... focus is a tad soft, but that's the limitations of the Pentax 50-200mm digital tele I'm afraid. (Understand routerguy's comment, but it ain't the shutter speed on this one. 1/90 not a problem for me, I've got a ton of rock steady shots handheld at 1/30, including macros and teles ... and some even slower than that with an assist from the K100D's shake reduction)

Don't think there's anything wrong with your gear. 1/90th shutter speed is what borked your focus here. That's too slow to stop people from blurring out slightly, even when they are standing 'still'.
Nice composition and it looks really good in b/w. |

| The focus seems a touch off, though you may have wanted that. Beautiful capture of a lovely face. You literally caught the sparkle in her eyes. |

| Nice. I like the ringlets of hair on either side acting as a micro frame. The hair on the left side near the eye is a bit distracting (or it adds some down-home feel to it, depending on your point of view). |
