 i got this dark sky effect by using adjustment layers in levels, channel mixer and curves and darkened and added contrast etc etc etc ... i erased in the adjustment layers where it darkened the land so that area remained lighter ...
i desaturated using adjustment layer in hue/sat ... used the kodak airbrush to get rid of a bit of the noise ..


after Valeriy's comment i dodged the clouds .. i probably could've done more .. opinions are appreciated .

Winning big time!!!!!!

wonderful shot which (for me) almost has an Ansell Adams quality to it

The skyline is excellent and the the comparison with the trees on the hilltop horizon is perfection!!!

You are winning!! I really like this, I like the soft, lacy look of the clouds, I don't feel the sky needs anything else you've done a fine job on them. I would prefer to have the forground a bit sharper (hand held?) and the tree in the forground is a tiny distraction. Overall though a great shot and nice processing.

very nice sky effect- I think you have a nice workflow to get this dreamy sky. The ground is a little soft of focus to me - maybe the slow shutter speed - was this hand held? or tripod?.

Oh Roz! This is so PRETTY! I am in love with perspective shots, and yours here showing those tiny little houses makes this so awesome! I love your smoothe dreamy sky. I love everything about this one!
