simple b&w conversion from jpeg ... adjustment layer hue/sat and desaturated ... another adj layer channel mixer to give more contrast .. kodak airbrush to smooth out the background .. resize .. sharpen, border, save for web ...

Roz, so many of your pictures make me smile!!!

This is beautiful, sharp, great tones and contrast

but the thing I really love about it is the fact that the background almost looks it should be a shadow of the main subject (as if it was shot in a studio) then when you look at the 'shadow' shapes you realise that they are very different to the subject and it gives you a real 'what????' sensation (in a good way)

Now this is differant, and I like it, actually I like it a lot.....
The first thing I see that I like, is the softness of the image.
I also love the wattle plant, (it is Australias National flower) in the foreground, as it is so well focused, and catches ones eye very quickly.
The magical DOF just behind the plant, along with the white high contrast background, complete this image just perfectly.....
