Loads of processing, too much to mention here, if anyone is interested in how this was done then if I get enough interest I will write a tutorial or something.

(Tutorial now available in the "How`d they do that?" section)

This is a self-portrait, the skull was a picture taken at work of a skull used in the Oral Surgery department. His name was Fred.

I used my most basic equipment, the 300D and kit lens. dont know why, couldn`t be bothered to get the 5D out I guess, (my three year old daughter uses my 300D a lot these days).

Scorewise I think this could go two ways. 6.8ish or if its not received well, which I predict, 5.5

This is an amazing use of expert editing. Sorry about some of those low scores...some people will never change. Keep up the awesome work though!

Greetings from the Critique Club -

Well this will be short and sweet. You done real good here! Excellent usage of the expert editing and really clean PS work here. Creative, compelling and creepy. I don't really have a whole lot to say about improving this shot. You have created something more along the lines of a painting than a photo. This isnt a bad thing, but you have presented us a piece of artwork that I believe is what you wanted. Great detail, great lighting, great idea. The voters rewarded you well - though not to sure abou tthose 12 at the bottom - maybe just those anti expert editing nazis.

As usual excellent work. Keep it up man!

Tim

Mark,

I don't get it. You said that you had used photoshop, but I can't see... oh - is it your hair?

Well placed anyway!

Cheers

Nice job.

I can't say that I "like" this. It's not the kind of image I would hang anywhere in my home. But I must say, it's well done. Fantastic editing job. The best really. ~10
