Tamron 90mm macro lens. Contrast, brightness adj. Cloned out a small mark about the size of the @ symbol on your keyboard. White balance set for incandescent lighting. The DOF is shallow, but not distracting IMHO. The shot is sharp where it needs to be.

Absolutely beautiful capture. The ice almost looks like a hand dripping water off the skin. Stare at the thumbnail and you can really see it.Wow.

Your photo is wonderful! The dof is great and focus is very good. The drops are perfect..I don't know how much better it could get.

That really is an unbelievable capture, and a well-deserved ribbon. I can't believe you got this hand-held! I guess my comment about DOF was a little harsh -- looking at this picture again, I see that the points of all 3 icicle tips are in-focus, which now that I study it some more, I really like! Awesome work as always Gary.

I can see how the shallow DOF accentuates certain parts of the icicle, but I would have preferred to see more of it in clearer focus, since the majority of it is out of focus...

The colors here really add to the coldness of the ice. Great capture of the water droplets. Focus and lighting are excellent. Well Done.

Lovely capture. Good colour, nice DOF and my favoured kind of shape. Those drops almost give your set-up away but not quite! Very cool shot! ;)

I find the wide border to be a bit overwhelming - my eyes are continuously drawn away from the subject to the white of the border. I would like to have seen the entire icicle in nice sharp focus. The composition is interesting. Good catch on those droplets!

Great timing! The contour of the icicle leads the eye to the drops, which are beautifully shaped. Nice color too.

I really like this one a lot. The way the water drop just let go of the icicle to the well blurred background. Excellent job!

Love the mix of the ice and free falling water. Blurred background is very effective indeed, and the plain border is a bonus. Excellent.
