Star Wars was my passion in my childhood. In fact, I'm reliving those feelings with the new movies.

You know, Swashbucker's comment about adding r2d2's trails is an INCREDIBLE insight. That would have made this photo 1-2 points better. Anyway, good job! Dawn

That's just so.... cute! I think it could be better framed, but it has a lot of appeal as it is. The colours and lighting are great, it gives a strong sense of a frame from the movie. Well done :)

Nice toys. Good setting, where's Luke? This is going to sound a bit wierd, but the detail I want to see is their trail. It looks like you "plopped them down" and shot. (Devil's in the details!) 3CPO might not have left much of a trail, but R2D2 would have. 9 Swash

Nice and simple, just wish C3-PO wasnt so central in the image.

Star Wars was such a HUGE part of so many of our childhoods. Great idea and creatively arranged. - floyd

With nothing to compare size to, you almost can't tell they are just little figures. Could be the real thing for all I know. lol. I never got to see the star wars movies from when I was a kid, but this still portrays childhood very well. The lighting is great. No silly reflections, glares or shadows. The placement of the figures is also nice, to not have them directly in the center of the photo puts a nice twist on things. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

I was 10 I think...when it came out. I had every figure and card and poster you could think of. I was in love with Han Solo...lol. What I'm trying to say here is that you captured childhood memories for me. Great job! :) KDJ 8

Light is too harsh (although I guess they are on a desert planet, huh?) Seriously though, they lost a lot of detail cause of the light... Nice composition / idea...

good resolution. good memories.

Definitely meets the challenge. It reminded me of one of the first 3 movies when this 2 guys were in a planet, in the middle of the desert, in a position very much like this composition. Fun idea. It made me smile...

I would have openned my view a little bit more, to convey the solitude of this two characters (although maybe you were unable to open the angle and avoid the real surroundings, in which case you should have gone to a real desert to make the photo -just kidding!-). It would have looked nice if the shadows were more a part of the composition, even if it ment taking the figures from the back of the subject. I white cloth filter would have helped you avoid the severity of the direct sunlight.

LMAO. Right on. This sums up my childhood aptly. And the title is great. Photographically, I wish the lighting were slightly less harsh. +1 for creativity. 6, just-married

Simple, but it communicates the right message.

use the force!! i bet im not the only one who said that!! star wars was definetly part of my childhood, wish i still had my action figures..

Nice one, especially the sand in the background, really remembers me of the Star Wars movies of long ago (not the new ones, the first ones from way back!).
Nice shiny picture!

This is cool. I wanna play.

I like the lighting, and how it really looks like the characters are in a desert. A lower perspective might add drama, but I also realize that this could bring in background elements that you were trying to avoid.
08/26/2002 12:11:00 PM
Aaagh - make at least one of them stand up straight.
08/26/2002 01:29:00 AM
Nice, I couldn't find any of my star wars toys that I had when I was younger. I blew them up in the battles we had.
