This is the National Shrine of Mary, Help of Christians, locally know as Holy Hill. Located on a glacial hill in the terminal moraine area known as the kettle moraine, it is visible for many miles.

On tripod, remote release. Shot in RAW and converted with ACR 4.0. Very moderate perspective correction. Curves, rotation, cropping, resized and sharpened. That's it!

The title is, oddly, a reference to an early (1953) novel by Arthur C. Clarke.

Such wonderful architecture and you've captured it beautifully.

The light in the lower right was distracting. You might have cropped that out or edited it.

Very nice. My only question is why did you not crop it to lose the lower 1/3? The large dark area doesn't add anything in IMO.

Very nice, but I find the light near the bottom a little distracting

stunning ... amazing blending of colours/shades from that gorgeous deep intense blue in the sky to the silhouetted building with the lights etc ... the tower lit up by the lights ... etc etc etc ... oh yeah .. and the sort of welcoming light at the door ...... a perfect photograph ....... totally amazing .. =10

Good, well done for timing it whilst there was still some light in the sky.

Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning. It's day two now and I'm running late, sorry.
