I have to confess... I scored this relatively low... but had I known what this really was I would've given you a ten for the effort! |

I used to have a round pencil. didn't work for crap. lol. the lighting is a bit dim here. looks like you may have done it on purpose though. what are all the white speks? I'm not sure exactly what the background is. looks kind of like a fuzzy sweater with a pocket on the front. placement and angle are great. good luck with the challenge. |

Rubber pencil? Hard to see what this is. |

I'm thinking this is supposed to remind us of a comet in the starry sky...but that's just my interpretation....comet has a "tail"....get it? and the purple looking blanket thing behind it almost makes it look like a galaxy....I'm not completely sure where you were going with this or even if I'm on target with my interpretation. But that is what I see...the white specks look like stars to me. Although on my screen I think maybe I see too much into the blackness...I see something holding this up...like a stem of something in the center of the bottom. And the line of the blanket directly above the pencil is somewhat distracting...good effort though and unusual...so I'm giving it a 6. |

gotta hear how you did this one---neat stuff |

Looks like a print from a very dirty negative. |

what an interesting technique. There seems to be a lots of white dust in the picture, whether noise or reflections from the curved surface used to reflect the pencil I don't know. I wish the whole image were brighter. Very clever approach and a nice eye |

Very interesting... kind of dark and moody and surreal. It doesn't altogether work for me, but I appreciate that you were trying something very cool in this photo. |

interesting, if it was better executed. ie no "wrinkels" from the old navy fleece, and no "specs" whatever those colored dots are all over, I would have given you a 10... |

I would have liked to see better lighting on this very interesting subject... |

Reminds me of the opening of Fellowship of the Rings, just as Gollum reaches for the ring underwater. |

Very creative idea and I wonder what I'm exactly looking at :) I think the photo is too dark though. Maybe it would look better if the pencil filled more of the photo. |

a lot of speckles and low-light distortion. looks kind of outterspace :) |

Woo! Spooky space pencil. I like this but I don't know why, so my comment is probably useless, I do apologise. I'll come back to it if I can offer anything constructive, other than the fact that I like it! 6, Kavey |

This is some intersting sort of pencil :) I'm not sure I understand the 'specks' in the image... - jmsetzler |

Dust on the lens? I don't know enough to offer specifics, but I'd like to see the background darker, the subject brighter, and the white flecks gone. I'm sure someone else can give you the technical details :) |

ok, so you got me stumped as to how you did this. some kind of distortion through glass? i'm curious to find out on monday. iin the mean time, i think if you had the pencil/circle more dominant in the photo, that would be nice, for my personal taste, there's too much background. -- gr8photos (4) |

Sorry, but I have to give this picture a 1 because of all the speckles throughout the picture. I don't like the shadow that is cast over the middle of pencil and the ends of the pencil seem out of focus. I do like the idea of a bent pencil and am curious to know how you did it. |

Clever shot but Im not clear why it's lost in this mirky underwater kind of scene. Atmospheric but Im left wondering why. |

This is so dark and grainy, I'm having real trouble even figuring out what I'm looking at. Was there an effect used to create the bending of the pencil that necessitated this dark image? |

too dark I think, hard to tell what's going on |
|

The idea is good, but it takes work to determine the subject is a pencil at all. I would suggest brightening the image a bit so that the subject is not mostly obscured. |

I can't tell what the speckles are...is it pixilazation? Also, your pencil seems to be lost in the depths of the background... |

too dark .. ur camera is struggling as is evidenced by all the ccd noise.. needs more light :) |

If this isn't a novelty pencil, I would like to know how you got it to bend like this. Good "stellar" quality to it, would have liked to see a title go with that. |

What IS this? I'm guessing it's some kind of exposure shot, judging by the stuck pixels. I'm thinking it could be lit better, but its a very interesting idea. 5 -lennier |

Very dark, and the pencil doesn't really stand out. The title comes too close to saving this, though it is a good idea. |

Interesting. I'm not sure how you did this pict. It seems a bit dark. The focus looks ok. |

A cool idea, but the execution of the picture IMO leaves some to be desired. The flecks of white, the rumpled black felt and the overall barkness leave me in the lurch. The pencil itself looks like it might be under water, am I right? I have the feeling that there is something here I am missing, maybe whin I revisit this image later in the week it may make more sence. |
