I like the tones on this one. Soft and well composed.

what an excellent take on the challenge! great shot.

so, when ya coming back this way?

Congrats! I knew yours would do well. I think it might have hurt mine to have two so similar. The viewer can't help but compare the two, and yours wins hands down. Now stop stealing my ideas *wink*

This is a great shot. I love the atmosphere and composition of the picture, especially the lighting and use of B&W. It is also the subtlest use of pencils I've seen thus far. I cannot provide useful comment on the general photography; it has no faults as far as I can see. Other pictures have used a similar idea, but I don't think that should affect my originality vote; this shot has class and deserves to score high… (10)

Lovely shot. I can feel the softness of her back - the light on it is beautiful. I think it would be nice to have just a little side light on her face, to separate the skin of her face from her hair.

Composition - very good
Technical Aspects - very good
Meets Challenge - yes
Visual Impact / Originality – high/ quite good
Other suggestions – I wonder if a light sepia would have set this off better? I still like it.

Beautiful light on a beautiful back!

Very elegant looking. I almost think cropping it just above the towel(?) would have been effective too, with more space at the top. karmat

Cool! Very nice picture. Very good composition and the light is just perfect.

This is certainly a nice shot, but something doesn't seem right to me. It may be that the lack of contrast between the subject and the background makes it seem kind of flat.

Beautiful. It's a shame there's another one so similar :). The duotone is beautiful and soft, and well exposed. 10 from me - lisae

This is a picture to be proud of. Perfect 10.

beautiful image :) The soft lighting and overall softness of this image is working well in this 'portrait'. The angle of the lighting does a nice job of highlighting the muscule structure... great shot! = 10 - jmsetzler

This is very beautiful. The lighting is just right and her skin is very very smoothe which creates a pleasing subject to look at. I think it may be more sensual if she were wearing some kind of soft cloth such as sick or rayon instead of what looks like a towel. Yup, I see pencils! I could hang this in my livingroom. Great photo. Good luck in the challenge.

very nicely done. Good soft focus/ finishing, love the blue tone, very subtle. Interesting pose, certainly the best out of the 'pencils in the hair' shots. Perhaps the shadow on her back is a bit too strong and could have been softened a bit with some fill light ?

If she had moved a few steps away from the wall, you probably could have avoidied the shadow, but I don't know what your lighting source was, so that may or may not have been possible. I like the composition and the lighting, but not so sure about that earring...

What a beautiful shot! The lighting is just perfect and I think that b&w was a good choice. The contrast is great too. Good job! :) -KrazyKat

Nice idea. Composition, lighting. Soft where it should be, and sharp where it should be.
08/19/2002 08:51:00 AM
Lovely picture ! I wonder whether it would gain by being cropped a bit more ... not sure. It's probably best as it is.

Beautiful! This is almost identical to mine, but I like yours better. The blue works well, and your lighting is superb.
