You know I was just flicking through some pictures and came across this again.

For me it has to be one of my favourite titles on DPC - makes me smile everytime : )

Well done Mark! I stand by my earlier comments. This should have ribbonned. Not that the entries above you were poor, just that they photographed already appealing subjects - the HDR is just a bit of gloss on top. Yours, as I said, is something far more interesting. I look forward to seeing your other HDR work!

Aha. Romford. I moved there albeit briefly when I returned to England from Australia. Your photo is inspiring in an arty way.

It looks very cool. The only thing I would like is for the technique to be a little more subtle. But it is very nice. 8

Overdone on the tonemapping, a little less would also have been okay.

Wow. The first thing I get from this image is the feeling that a storm has just passed over, it is now evening, and the sun is setting peacefully with a warm glow. The dramatic sky along with the gritty, contrasty feel of the pavement and landscape are seen next to the warm sunset sky off to the left.

Great symmetry in this image. The way you lined up the street lights appears carefully done. Excellent HDR work as well, it has good overall contrast, detail, and color without having any bad halos.

The perspective & roadway lights almost makes the case for this to be the approach to the landing strip for a major airline. Good Job! :)

Very cool image. I love the use of long exposure and HDR to show the details of the road and bushes while capturing the neat sky.

This is one of the few images submitted that IMHO actually makes use of HDR to achieve something, an atmosphere that would not be there in standard photography. Anyone can photgraph an amazing building or wonderous landscape and make it look nice, but you've done something far more difficult - by turning a most mundane subject into an ethereal journey. You are eally painting with light here and I love it! Sorry I can't vote as I'm not a paid up member, but I would have given this a 10.

Love the title. I like the tonality of the image as well. I think I am going through an "urban" phase because these types of images are catching my eye more than normal.

Wonderfully textured sky. I love the lines of the barren roadway which lead you straight to the sky. Perhaps bringing out some of the foliage colors a bit more? 9
