Challenge: Self Portrait V (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Nikon D50
Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED
Location: livingroom
Date: Nov 4, 2006
Date Uploaded: Nov 4, 2006

I had been trying to get a nice self portrait the whole evening. I tried about 5 different ideas but none of them work. Then I decided to find a nice photo and use the same idea. //flickr.com/photos/eoloperfido/133322302/ Here is the original photo

In post processing I duplicated the original photo and set the blending mode to screen. Then I duplicated it again and set the blending mode to soft light. Then I brightened the eyes and dodged it a little.

-------
Thanks everyone. I knew I would get a nice score for this photo, but I didn't expect 7.19.

Thanks

Ok…I’m typing this from my local police station in Pattaya. I awoke this morning to find to my horror that Djabordjabor did not get the blue. True to my word I braced myself to run naked down my road. To cut a long story short, I left in my wake a trail of traumatised people. Including one security guard who had to be heavily sedated and will be off work for months. His colleague managed to call the police in between his dry heaves. Bad timing on my part, as I had nearly made it back to the safety of my house when the officer nabbed me.

I’m waiting for a lawyer but I’ve been told nobody wants to represent me, having seen the video evidence the police shot, no one has the stomach for it.

Can someone call Amnesty International for me?

I really like the intensity of this photo. The only thing I would like to see different, would be to tighten the crop a little, so there is less of your chest shown...and the white border gone. Overall, very nice photo!

This is great. One of the top in the challenge. I would have cropped off the bottom as I find it a bit alien and spooky with so much white. Actually, where you have it cropped is fine it's just that it blends in with the border. Come to think of it, perhaps the choice of white for the border was not the right choice or maybe a 1 pixel black line before the white.

Strange pose and yet it works so well! This is one of my favorites by far. The lighting is great, certainly has the "wow" factor. Only thing I'd say would be to blend the border a little more in some places as, at least on my screen ,your image seems to fade into white in some places and in other places you can see a clear line.
