My ongoing journey of making impromptu portraits and candids of people that I meet led me to this wonderful man this past weekend. I'm still so stunned over my encounter with this individual that I can't even begin to put it into words yet. I'm still evaluating the impact it's had on me. The encounter was fleeting, but the impact hasn't escaped me yet. I only had a brief discussion with him. After about two or three minutes of conversation, I asked if I could take his picture, and his response was "I thought you would never ask!" Those simple words really put a nice seal on my chance encounter with this stranger.

His name is Robert Harris. He's a preacher from Asheville, North Carolina. Whenever I'm able to further understand what happened during my brief meeting with this man, I intend to write more about it...

The Preacher: Knows his mind because he knows the Word of God, and He speaks boldly without compromise proclaiming, "Thus Saith The LORD!" Younger Preachers, like me, have mighty big "shoes to fill." (Matthew 28:18-20) :)

Spectacular detail and contrast. Even though his face exudes a quiet warmth, there is still a bit of an eery feel to photograph. Wonderfully done!

What an interesting, wise-looking man. Great capture; really like the processing. His skin texture is amazing. Very introspective. :)

Dude, I see this guy at J&S in Enka all the time. Is this Harris (firstname is Robert, I think) the circuit riding preacher?

Regardless, you've captured the intensity of his eyes well. His face has a story to tell
