 I was so frustrated with the way my son's portraits turned out, I decided to take a stab at it. No - this isn't him. Just a 'portrait' I found that I took earlier this month. Its actually a candid, but she looked like she should be a portrait, so that's what I did.

Lots of editing - blurred and darkened background. did a little spot editing on her face. curves, usm, resize, canvas size change, hue adjustments, a light vignette. save for web.

BTW - gotta love IS - this was shot at 1/60 at 170mm on a 1.6 crop...

Terrific colors and composition. Appears to be a bit too soft for the soft focus look, but still retains a painterly quality to it that I like. :)

Lovely portrait style. Love the stance and the composition is so classic. Very good lighting and skin tone as well. This is a keeper and definitely a portrait anybody would love to have on their wall.
