LOL!! I just looked up the band the Sundays and wow...Their photo and this one are very similar. Just goes to show you that this must be a really great photo, if one like it has been on an album cover. Sorry I missed this challenge, but I really like this shot.

Thanks again for everyone who took the time to comment.
Yes those are fossils - very small (about 1cm Pyratised Ammonites).
lolly_gagger - When I read your comment I was thinking of replying about living in the UK and how am I supposed to have heard of some obscure US band - then I figured out they are actually a UK band - DOH! Having looked them up on the Internet, I have to agree that the images are very similar. You'll just have to take my word for it that I have never heard of the Sundays or seen the Album before. |

| as the title implies, the shot really does have great shadows. the composition is good, but I would like it even better if you tilted the camera to place the upper spiral in the upper right corner. also, a greater dof would be nice to get everything in focus. and one more thing... it looks like you boosted the contrast a little too much. but it really is a nice shot. |

| Nice photo and love the contrast. But focus seems to be iffy in certain areas, such as bottom left corner. |

Something old. Use your photographic technique to emphasize the age of your subject.
Composition - good

| I can't determine exactly what your picture is of. You have good focus but it looks a little overworked in post processing. I like to have the subject jump out an say "I am a .....". Autool |
