very nice and very interesting.

Trying to shoot this shot made me REALLY hate my camera. I constantly got a whole lot of redchannel noise in the whole picture, no matter what I did. I really think I got dinged (rightly so) due to the technical aspects of this, yet again. Trying to bring the color out in photoshop also brought out the redchannel noise, as well. I either need a camera that doesn't splatter my images with crap, or a crash course in photoshop. For jmseltzer's info, this photo was hardly cropped at all, maybe 5-10% of it was cropped.

Thanks for the comments guys.

How in the world did this end up in spot 81? I love this. Good job!

I really like this photo. The composition is excellent, but I wish the color punched a little harer in this one. I downloaded this photo and played with some hue and saturation adjustments on one, contrast on another, and then finally made a black and white out of it. Each added some amount of punch to the photo. What I see that is difficult in this image is some amount of pixellation in the image. The only thing I can think of that may have caused this is either a digital zoom or this being cropped out of a much larger image possibly... = 7 - jmsetzler

This is a very nice photograph, a little on the grainy side but still good. In terms of texture, its slightly lacking. 6

That has got to be a very desolate place. One of my tens.

This is growing on me. I started you out as a five (my I don't know what to think vote), but pondering this text is giving me time to really view this shot. The subtle color changes, the lonely stag, the dramatic change of texture from farm land to scrub brush. You should return to this spot in different seasons, there is a lot of potential in this site. I really like the stag tree, knarled and windswept. It could be a subject all by itself. I think the texture value of this shot is low mostly because of it's sublty, I am going to grade you up, but not a long way. 7 Swash

interesting how distance affects the appearance of what the texture of grass etc is.

it certainly speaks to that

Beautiful! Artisic! Texture from the tree to the ripples in the hill. Great coloring, composition, clarity. Gives me a peaceful feeling, too.

Well done. Great composition.

interesting! the bottom half almost looks touched up, as there are so many different colors!

Nice. A texture that is not a close up. Great job!

I like the contrast between the light and dark earth - 6

I love that tree in the barren landscape. Wonder whether the img would have been stronger if you had cropped me and make the tree more prominent in the img.
07/22/2002 09:41:00 PM
excellent detail...the tree is alone...

Nice composition. I like the colors, interesting lines. The poor tree! ;)

Forgive me for being critical. i am sure there were loads of textures in this scene but unfortunately I can't see any of them. yes it looks hot, yes it looks dry and it's not a bad shot but hot and dry aren't textures.

landscape texture very difficult to do; gets lost in the form

This is nce and you really have a mood of bone dry. The only fault I see it that it's not as crisp as it shoul be to my eye. Still it's a good shot. Kee

texture can be imagined, but depicted much here
