Taken on Purgatory Creek outside Buchanan, VA. Titled Greyledge Falls because it is on the Greyledge estate. I grew up fishing in this spot for native rainbow trout. These falls are actually bigger than they look. The water was low due to lack of rain.

Post Challenge: COOL!!! My highest placement yet. ;-) I got very wet getting this shot - HA. It started to rain before I actually made it up the creek to this particular spot, but decided to keep going anyway to get there and get the shot. This makes it worthwhile! Thanks everybody! =)

Missed this one... love the flow and the balance between light and dark. The greens of the moss are very realistic, (read>>> not overdone with the green slider ;) ) The whole scene is quite refreshing.

Yep, I would lose the border too. However it is a great shot and looks very inviting. That is how you know you have a winning shot. As you can tell by my comment during the challenge, I asked if it was swimmable? Made me want to get in there. Congrats on your personal best!! Lovely image.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS! Well deserved. Your waterfalls are beautiful :)

I would lose the border. It just makes the image feel smaller with it, IMO. However, that didn't stop it from walking the red carpet top ten list! :P Congrats.

WTG on a top ten finish! This is a beautiful shot. Nice smooth water and I love the hint of color from the moss on the rocks. I didn't vote this challenge, but this would've scored high from me if I did.

One of the better water shots in this challenge, though there are too many overall. Nice texture and color in the rocks and moss.

Oh no, yet another waterfall shot!! :-)

But I like the use of the two huge rocks to guide your eye into the waterfall itself. And the use of slow exposure to provide the misty feel to the water and the extended depth of field for the static elements. It all works well together to create a powerfully primeval, spiritual result.

I use borders a lot, but I don't think this one helps. Instead of the line, I prefer take an area about the thickness of what you have between the line and the edge and fade it back to 20-30% opacity/saturation.

The blur on the water and the color of the moss aznd rocks is very nice.

Very nice. The frame is not as good.

Nice image. I am not too sure you needed the border. IMHO it does not add anything to the pic.

This is a nice shot, but the border on this really seems to interfere with the composition. IMO

Very pretty, and nice scenic shot. Feels quite serene and quiet. Not what I envision at first thinking of 'Motion Blur'. Yes, I guess it meets the challenge and it is a nice image - however, against other more exciting action type shots...

No worries. I'm not voting. Just making observations. ;^) Good luck in the challenge.

Beautiful composition, beautiful use of a slow shutter speed, beautiful location.

Sometimes I like borders, but this one distracts me. But that's a nitpick. 10.

Nice idea and well timed. The moss makes the picture. The lit rock on the left is a little bit on the big side - but there was nothing you could do about that.

Of all the blurred water, this has the most interest to me. Partially for the perspective, and secondly, that bit of green with the fern fronds down on the right. Love the frame too. Beautiful.

Lovely picture, but I really think the border is totally unnecessary.

Gees, that's so common! Good pic, no worries, but its connection to the challenge is ever so superficial.

this is cetainly picturesque and serene. the lighting and colours are what make this exceedingly plasing, and the neat, sensible composition helps too. i love the greens in this picture - so bold and bright! only minor criticism is that i think the frame is a bit too swanky for its own good, but that aside, this is a great take on the challenge, and would fit in any stock library. 8.
