Someone brought this up in the member of the week post. I looked at it and said "wow". Then I saw that I had scored it a 9 in the challenge. I don't remember it, but I really like it! |

Trading post.
Excellent picture. Wonderful abstract. Super colors and lines. Nice textures. Obviously I am not the only one who thought so, given your high ranking. Well done. I have no idea how to improve on this image. I would have scored this an 8 or 9 had I not been out of town.

Like I said, I absolutely love this photo, it really jumped out at me in the thumbnails page when voting, and I gave it a 9 (no 10s in this challenge for me). Should have done better I reckon, but its the kind of photo that can easily be underrated here.
fwiw, I really like the desat outtake, but not as much as this one.
The framing and composition seems to be perfectly balanced. The interplay of the diagonal shadows and the stripes of colour works really well, echoed by the solid black of the f/g staircase. The white steps on the bottom right of the frame add some depth to the composition.
Great find, takes a photographer's eye to see it and to fully exploit the potential. Your best entry I've critiqued so far in my books, even if it doesn't have the highest score.
ETA: wouldn't be quite the same without those lovely earthy tones

Tradin gPost - You know I think I like this better now than when I first voted on it. I must have been in a rare mood as a couple of the shots from our trading post group i scored a bit low. The San Antonio colors work well (those earthy tones you know) and the crossing lines of the shadows and colors bring in some more interest. Not a bad shot and congrats on your score and placement. Cant complain with a 6+ shot. |

hello again,
i personally did not like this one. i had no idea why, just that it did not make me think wow nice pic.
i am looking at it and it is technically correct (maybe a bit to dark in the deeper shadows) but that is not it. so i leave myself with not knowing why i think this is just a normal pic, just that i do.
congrats on the nice finish. |

interesting shadows, and a good eye to notice them.
composition is good, it has some nice colors, the only thing I found that could be improoved is thet it looks oversharpened.
still a good score :) |

Hey, I really liked this one - gave it an 8. I don't exactly know why, but the pattern combined with the colors made it appealing to me. Good job. |

Trading post...
Very nice play of light and shadow. You seem to really excel at these types of shots. The colors add alot of interest along with the brightness of the stairs. I really love how the darkness at the bottom left matches up to the darkness at the top right, really great symetry (spelling?). We'll have to start calling you the goddess of shadows, LOL! |

Congratulations on an excellent score and a near perfect run of 6's. I liked this shot - lots of interesting lines...sort of feels like motion. Great colors too. Good job. Rock on Sister. |

Very nicely constructed and presented. There's something slightly dischordant about the right hand side, but I've tried simulating other crops and none are better. So I guess it is what it is after all! And what that is is pretty interesting and satisfying. 7. |

nice lines and way to make the shadows the subject of your photo. I also like how the lines of the shadow follow the lines of the stairs in the foreground |

Nice graphic sense. The muted terra cotta, olive and golden colors work well together against the black of the stairs and shadow. |
