Well, I really appreciate all of the comments and ideas....this was my very first photo posted. I joined for that very reason. I hope to improve as the weeks go on with the help of all of your comments. Thanks. Chris

Why is everyone uot for insects?
Thera a lot ore of interesting things.

Good idea, but the flower stalk effectively divides the shot into two pictures. Cropping at the middle of the flower or at its right edge might have produced a more visually interesting photo. 4-ClubJuggle

intersting flowers. had to search to find the bug

Your lovely floral shot messed up by an interloping insect! Great color; getting the precise focal depth a little farther back (on the bee) would emphasize your (stated) subject so it competes better with the much brighter flower.

ive seen too many insect and flower closeups today

strong colours in contrast to the background which is nicely blurred

screams out for a vertical framing, rather than horizontal. Great DOF on the flowers behind, love how they are all blurred out.

bee is not that focused

nice capture :) I think this photo would be improved with a tighter crop, if that's possible. The dead centering of the purple flower is not my favorite positioning in an image like this... = 6 - jmsetzler

Would have loved to have seen this vertical to correspond with the subject.

Wonderful color.

Nice shot, great focus on bee (tricky little devils) Love the background, the buds starting to open. It's all good. 2nd 10 for this challenge. Swash

the daisy in the background is perfect...even if you'd missed the bee! I'd like to see it cropped with the purple flower a bit more off center instead of as a dividing line down the middle

This is a nice shot althogh i do think the focus could be better.
07/15/2002 01:12:00 PM
A picture like this needs sharp focus, and you loose that on the front of the flower.
07/15/2002 09:13:00 AM
I kinda like the composition to divide the frame in half with the purple flower. I wish you could have just gotten closer to the Bee though.
07/15/2002 01:10:00 AM
The lighting is a bit flat, and I might have moved the flower a bit off center, but otherwise, well done. Those bees dont stay in one spot for long, so they are hard to capture.
