OK, admittedly I don't get the fear aspect of the shot -- but it feels like it could work so I'm not going to lower my score for that reason. What bothers me is how over-exposed this is. I wouldn't mind so much if the background stayed the same, but it seems like the crabs and their shadows need to be darker to pull this off. I like the composition and the negative space.

Overexposed. Recommend fixing with a curve.
07/14/2002 06:34:00 PM
eeeeerrrrrrrrrrr
07/14/2002 12:48:00 PM
It's awfully bright.

very good composition. i like the crabs being off-centered. nice background, too. nothing wich would distract. IMHO also nit overexposured. i like it in this case.

negative space on left works well-composition of crabs, the shadows also works. Color a little washy to suggest "fear"

Washed out photo. Too bad.

Looks abit washed out, but I loved the composition.
07/13/2002 02:09:00 AM
over exposed
07/13/2002 01:35:00 AM
umm, try some "level" editing in photoshop
07/12/2002 02:50:00 PM
too much exposure, i think, on this one.

Sea insects, I dont know how anyone could eat one of those things. Photo is a bit washed out, too bright.

Photo is good but the crabs are cooked------No Fear!!!!
07/11/2002 08:43:00 PM
This photo appears very bright on my screen.

Interesting image, but it feels overexposed, a little bit of contrast migth have helped.
07/11/2002 02:20:00 PM
clever but is it a bit burnt out?
07/10/2002 05:43:00 PM
Good idea, but why over exposed?
07/10/2002 05:12:00 PM
This would have been absolutely GREAT, if only the brightness was down about 4 notches. (Did you "set this up"?) I really wish I could give you better than a 6, but that's it. Swash

I like your picture but it doesn't say "FEAR" For nature I'd give you a 9 but of fear...2 Sorry!

subject 10 lighting 4 compositon 8 focus 6 total 7

Kind of washed out (although you may have wanted that, it didn't work for me). I like the grain of the background and wish more detail was there. I think the shadows threw off your cameras meter. If it has an option for 'spot metering', you might want to experiment with it.
07/09/2002 10:56:00 PM
need to darken picture
07/09/2002 08:51:00 PM
are they afraid ? or copulating? we'll never know. anyway, it's over exposed.
07/09/2002 11:18:00 AM
way overexposed.
07/09/2002 10:28:00 AM
Very light and washed out
07/08/2002 11:05:00 PM
overexposed, otherwise nice
07/08/2002 10:03:00 PM
I assume the overexposure is purposeful, and though I would like it to be less so (just so the details on the crabs were a little more distinguishable), it does have an interesting effect. Almost dream-like or surreal. I like the shadow created as well. So are you saying that you are scared of crabs, or is one of them you -- metaphorically speaking? karmat

Cool shot. I wish it were not so washed out.
07/08/2002 08:59:00 PM
Too overexposed. Nice shadows, but the crabs themselves needed more contrast.
07/08/2002 07:06:00 PM
a little to bright
07/08/2002 05:54:00 PM
Too exposed
07/08/2002 01:13:00 PM
over exposed. nice framing though
07/08/2002 11:34:00 AM
cool! : ) but a bit burned...
07/08/2002 09:06:00 AM
Overexposed. If you did this in low sun, the shaows cast would have been menacing.
07/08/2002 06:58:00 AM
This is a neat photo but it is quite over exposed. = 4 - jmsetzler
07/08/2002 02:21:00 AM
Good shot.....thinkk it could have been a little better a little darker though.
