Got the idea while driving by farms and thinking of the challenges - the old children's poem came to mind...

I never saw a purple cow;
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one.

-Gelett Burgess

I probably won't be the only person to think of this, but oh well... ;-) It was fun!

PP actually included very little:
Selective layers of color sat, lighting/exposure, dodge/burn brush
Neat Image
Blend brush & clone brush to clean up some messy areas
Save for Web

POST-CHALLENGE:
Of course, I am a little disappointed with my score (but not completely surprised). I still really like this shot a lot though, and for those critics out there, "surrealism" was my goal... ;-P

Keep having fun!!!

Fun picture here. I like the composition you've used. IMHO the post processing could have been done a little smoother. The horizon line and edges of the cow show clear signs of post processing

And I never hope to see one.

This is just surreal... way over saturated (the grass looks radioactive :). Just not a horribly plesant photo to look at.

if you're going to go this far, paint the sky too - it feels odd to have it normal and the bottom half cartoon - love the composition though, with the sky treated this could be a very striking piece - 5

LOL - point(s) for humor. Too funny. I do wonder how the "tech" crowd vs. the "eye pleasing" crowd will disect this one. You'll either end up with ground beef or filet mignon.

hehe... fun shot. The cow most certainly stands out in that field. Nice job on the clouds, too.

These colors sure are bright. You have done a pretty good job of selecting the cow I do not see rough edges and it looks pretty 'natural' at least at this resolution. I wish the cow was a little higher in the frame.

This is f-ing hilarious. You took the literal direction of the challenge and ran with it. HURRAH for you!! This has a definite POW factor and Andy Warhol would have loved it!! Bravo for your orginality.

Oh and by the way, we had a 48 purple DeSoto that my mother inherited from an aunt and guess what we called it????

And you never will see a purple cow. LOL...I really wish this was in normal color. IT woudl have looked great against the grass and sky. Lovely. I hope you post the original later with cow uncolored. I will keep it as a fav!
